About Me
I have always been interested in all things arty and crafty, and started out making cards when I was 8 years old. This progressed more into the jewellery side of things and here I am now, over 12 years later..
I consider myself to be a mixed-media artist/jeweller, who tries to stay away from the conventional precious metals and gemstones, and create something a little different...something a bit whimsical and fun. Yet always keeping the fully functional/wearable pieces.
I have a strong interest in all things associated with nature and the natural world, and a passion for abstraction.
Over the past couple of years I have become slightly obsessed with glass!
I have explored various techniques and processes, but the main favourites are Lampworking and Fusing. I think its the way that it goes from solid to liquid, back to solid again tha fascinates me, also all the great colours you can get.
I have been on several diffferent courses with many well known glass artists, including Pauline Holt, Kate Fowle and Loren Stump.
I continue to experiment with my mediums and in doing so continue to create work that is different from the 'norm'!
My aim is to create pieces of jewellery, which encourage the wearer/viewer to pick them up and have a closer look at them. But most of all, the main aim is to produce pieces that are visually pleasing to the eye.
